Parvo Treatment At Home – Why It’s Better Than Taking Your Dog To The Vet’s

Friday, August 28th, 2009
Parvo treatment at home for your dog is a viable option, compared to the usual approach of having your dog treated at the animal hospital, even though you may meet considerable resistance to this idea.

So, let’s look at a few different factors, so that you can decide for yourself.

Cost

If you have your Parvo dog treated at the vet’s, it will probably cost you anywhere from $500 USD to over $10,000 USD, and that’s just for a single dog.

If you treat your dog at home, using products such as Life Cell Immune Support, Doggie Pain Relief, Parvaid and Vibactra Plus, then you will be able to treat one or more dogs (depending on their weight) for $275 USD or less, and that includes FedEx Overnight shipping (any other shipping method is just too slow, so don’t be tempted by offers of free shipping by some vendors – this free shipping is usually USPS Priority Mail, but if you wait for that, your dog can be dead by the time your package arrives).

Survival Rate

Most animal hospitals give dog owners a mere 50:50 chance of their dog successfully overcoming the Parvo virus, with the lowest we’ve come across being a one in three chance, and the highest an 80% chance.

On the other hand, if you treat your Parvo puppy at home using all of the products in the Parvo Gold Treatment Kit, then the success rate is typically 90%.

Part of this increased success rate is because treating your dog at home, yourself, is less stressful for both you and your dog, and reduced stress equals a better chance of your dog surviving this horrific virus.

24 x 7 support, and the unequalled Parvo vPETS service (constant phone contact every 4-5 hours during the first two days of full treatment – this does include hourly treatment, throughout the night as well, since the Canine Parvovirus doesn’t take vacations or mount an attack to suit your schedule) if you can find anybody offering it, can also increase your dog’s chance of overcoming Parvo, but you certainly won’t come across many vets offering this.

Care

If you take your dog to the vet’s and they want to keep him there, then it is highly likely that nobody will be in attendance during the night, so your dog could be all alone, or possibly with other sick dogs, for 12 hours or more.

However, if you carry out the Parvo treatment at home, then you will be there, with your dog, all day long.

Remember, dogs are very receptive to emotions, and having people around who truly love and care for them will help in their recovery.

Effort Required

If you have enough disposable income and you accept the relatively low chances of success offered by vets, then you can basically leave your dog there and pick him up again, if he survives, in one to seven days’ time.

If you take the home Parvo treatment route, on the other hand, then there will be some nights without sleep, as one of the four products, Parvaid, does need to be given every single hour (and that does mean both day and night) for the first two days of the four-day treatment course.

Conclusion

There are many good reasons why it makes sense to treat your dog at home if he has Parvo – the lower cost and increased survival rate are the two most obvious ones.

The only real downside is the time and effort it will take, but this is a necessary part of treating your dog at home, and the rewards, when you see your practically terminally-ill and almost unrecognizable doggie survive this often fatal virus, more than compensate for a few days’ sleepless nights.

And with the huge number of issues with vaccinations (which is a whole other story), then the best way to be prepared is to make sure you have a Parvo Gold Treatment Kit in your cupboard at all times – that way, if the worst should happen and Parvo strikes, you’ll be able to begin treatment at once, even if it’s 3:00am on a Sunday morning, when you’ll almost certainly struggle to find an animal hospital open.

Parvo Treatment – How Much Do You Know?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Spring is already upon us, which means that the Parvo season has begun, and there is an infinitely more aggressive Parvovirus Strain that is killing dogs at a scary rate. The 2c Strain can kill both fully-vaccinated adult dogs and puppies within 6-12 hours after symptoms first appear.

To see whether you’re current with the latest Parvo situation, we’ve put together the following short quiz. These are True/False questions:

  1. Parvo is a puppy disease and my adult dogs are safe.
  2. All of my dogs are up-to-date on their shots, therefore they are protected.
  3. I’m worried that my cat can get infected from my Parvo puppy, should I be?
  4. Foul-smelling dog diarrhea mainly comes from eating junk food.
  5. Canine Parvovirus is not contagious to humans.
  6. My vet quoted $750+ for Parvo treatments for my dog, I heard this is low?
  7. Parvo cannot survive snow and desert-heat temperatures.
  8. Parvo can only be spread via infected dog feces.
  9. Parvo can incubate from 3-15 days before symptoms appear.
  10. Parvo tests at the vet are always accurate.

People seem to have many misconceptions about the Parvovirus. One thing is for sure, it will devastate your pet and can take him away from you if you do not get on top of the situation swiftly. Many times, people are taken by surprise and just have no idea what to look for. Parvo symptoms can suddenly appear almost out of the blue – one minute your dog is playing and the next minute he is lying around, not eating, no energy – basically, not the dog you know and love.

The typical symptoms of Parvo can fox you at first. You may assume your dog has simply eaten something that didn’t agree with him, when indeed he may already be infected and very sick with the scourge of the Earth, Parvo virus.

This is the reason why we wrote Parvo Treatment 101, a FREE eBook that contains a wealth of information to help you learn all you need to know about Parvo and what are the dog Parvo symptoms to look out for. We also talk about exactly what makes for an effective Parvo treatment. Without a doubt, you will run across many different treatments for Parvo, and we can shed light on their pros and cons, as we’ve done tons of research into the subject matter.

We hope that you found this information useful and when you download and read your free copy of our eBook, that will clear up many issues you may have about Parvo.

Puppy Training Pads

What to look for before buying puppy training pads

Before buying puppy training pads, it’s important to make sure that the puppy pads you are buying meet a number of important criteria. Here is a list of what you should look for in puppy training pads, along with some reasons why it’s important.

Quality is very important. You want the best protection for your floor. Many puppy training pads on the market today are very thin and don’t absorb much. Often times leading to a mess on your floor.

Size of the puppy training pads you buy is also very important. A few questions to ask your self are. Do you change them after every use? Is your puppy accurate or does she need a bigger target? I have a 7lbs Yorkie. She hits the pads 99% of the time and her pee’s are pretty small. I use the 17×24 puppy pads. The size of your dog will also make a difference.

Testimonials are a good indicator customers are satisfied. Make sure the website your buying from proves there customers are happy. Example: Pee Pads. Also see if they offer a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Many sites are selling puppy pads for really cheap. That’s because they are cheap and don’t work good at all. If its to good to be true it’s probably not true. Do they have a phone # and contact address. Give them a call and see if there easy to get in contact with.

Baby Crib Bedding Sets

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Planning your nursery as new parents can be a challenge. Thankfully you have plenty of time to consider the make up of the newborns sleeping quarters. One decision that ranks up there with the most important is the choice of the baby crib bedding sets. Do not undermine the importance of this. The crib set defines the feel of the room. Most believe it is the room colors but the bedding set is what we see as soon as we enter the nursery.

Making the decision that much harder is the fact that there are hundreds of themes to choose from. Take your time with this. As stated before, it will set the theme of the whole room and while your baby will be oblivious to it initially, they will sure connect with it as time goes on. Obviously the sex of the baby eliminates half of the selections but that still leaves you with plenty to mull over.

Your primary consideration when selecting nursey items including a baby crib bedding sets is safety. Never compromise safety over appearance or price. You have to make sure that the mattress fits the crib exactly with no gaps at all. Also ensure the sheet fits perfectly. When selecting the crib try to purchase one that has adjustable levels. as the baby gets bigger you do not want the baby to be able to climb out. With different levels you can lower it as they grow eliminating this happening.

Bedding sets come in varying pieces such as 6 piece or 9 piece etc. Take your time when looking at these. You could find a 9 piece baby bedding set is more affordable than a smaller set. One point I must stress is to stick to your budget when choosing baby crib bedding sets. Your expenses are going to blow out as it is and you do not want to over extend yourself at this time until things settle down.
